Toyota 6kW-15kW Generator Set

6 KW – 15 KW CONTINUOUS OUTPUT

Polar’s Ideal LPG & Natural Gas Generator

Polar has combined a Toyota engine specifically designed to run 24/7 for natural gas engine driven air-conditioning applications with a Bosh engine control unit and Polar 8000 series alternator and system controls. This resulting package provides:

Engine higher fuel economy in a lean burn configuration

  • Closed loop combustion control with electronic carburetor controlling air / fuel mixture and speed control.
  • Increased compression ratio for the highest fuel efficiency.
  • To further increase fuel efficiency we removed the engine’s parasitic loads – water pump, engine fan, starting battery alternator, belts and pulleys

Engine lower maintenance and increased reliability

  • Replace belt driven water pump and radiator cooling fan with energy efficient electric fan and coolant pump. Coolant pump is without seals and driven with brushless dc motor for long life and ease of replacement.
  • 15-liter oil sump capacity for oil maintenance intervals of 3000 hours and longer
  • Increase engine maintenance intervals up to 1 year over 2 to 4 weeks for traditional LPG engines\
  • Cast iron engine block with 4 crankshaft bearings (between each cylinder)
  • Stellite valves to meet the higher combustion temperatures of LPG and Natural Gas

Proprietary long life 8000 series alternator, more than 100,000 hour life

  • No bearings
  • No Brushes, slip rings, exciters

Polar all aluminum corrosion resistant enclosure

  • for rugged outdoor use, outlasting steel enclosures by decades.

Additional Information

  • The Toyota series of prime power engines in combination with Polar's alternators provides the performance necessary to make nano grids practical, using LPG and Natural Gas as fuel
  • Diesel is not practical for nano grids, CHP, or micro-cogeneration, as diesel has become too expensive and there are greater concerns over pollution
  • Backup generators are not engineered for prime power. 3o-kW and smaller backup LPG generators are typically replaced at 3,000 to 4,000 hours of run time. Their low fuel efficiency renders them not cost effective
  • The Polar/Toyota prime power CHP generator has the il changed at 4,500 hours, thus the fuel efficiency is much higher

As the emission requirements increase for diesel engines:

  • Many diesel engine models have been discontinued
  • Common rail diesel engines require more maintenance and are very susceptible to failure caused by using poor-quality diesel fuel
  • Elaborate catalysts and filters have been added to the diesel to reduce particle pollution, but these filters can double the cost of a small diesel and greatly add to the maintenance
  • Diesel engine prices have skyrocketed, and deliveries are now typically 6 to 12 months
  • Diesel fuel has increased in cost along with a rise in theft

It has been said for a long time that due to worldwide emissions requirements the LPG/NG engines will replace the small diesel engines. Now is the time that LPG producers, distributors, generator companies, and trade organization are coming together and making the push for LPG. Polar is on the forefront of this effort and we expect a rapid increase in sales as a result.
