LPG/Propane/Natural Gas

Telecommunication, Automotive, HVAC, and Farming are applications that consume enormous amounts of diesel and produce very significant amounts of pollution.

Replacing diesel generators with generators using clean burning fuels is a huge market with very little competition. The barrier for market entry is producing generators with higher fuel efficiency, lower maintenance, and longer life.

The popular natural gas and propane generators (under 20 kW) produced by the well-known brands are engineered for low cost and operate only 200 to 500 hours a year. They require an oil level check every 24 hours, oil replacement every 200 hours, and generator life is typically under 4,000 hours.

A 15 kW Polar prime power generator has the oil change interval at 4,500 hours. With expected engine life of 60,000 to 90,000 hours. Polar changes the oil when competition is changing their generator.

Applications use diesel engines because of long life and fuel economy. Therefore, to compete the with diesel Polar offers greater reliability and lower operating cost.

A reminder that Polar does sell both diesel and LPG / NG systems. Our push into the clean fuel generators is that we believe this will increase our profits and it’s the right thing to do.

  • Telecommunications consumes diesel in tens of billions of liters of every year. Globally, the top 100 cellular towers companies own and operate over 1.5 million cell sites.
  • According to articles posted, the Telecom industry currently produces 4% of the worlds carbon emissions and this is expected to grow to 20% with 5G, IoT, and Edge computing. The high energy consumption presently goes unnoticed by most “Green Organizations” and Government Agencies.
  • LPG with or without solar can annually save individual telecom companies tens of millions of dollars in energy costs annually.
  • LPG is frequently lower in cost than Diesel. Typically, NG is lower in cost than LPG.
  • LPG emits 14% - 18% less C02 than Diesel. NG is up to 26% lower in emissions than diesel.
  • Diesel emissions are carcinogenic causing new restrictions in installation.
  • The Polar LPG DC generator can reduce fuel consumption up to 40% over a diesel.
